Good day at Irvine for the West District Championship. Finished in 47.39 (time to be confirmed) with, even if I say so myself, a rather storming sprint finish to hold off a vet from another club who tried to catch me in the last 200 metres or so. Full marks to the Bella ladies who started a Norman..Norman..Norman.. chant which spurred me across the line -- in fact they provided great support all round the course -- rather better than we chaps provided for them they tell me -- lesson learned for next time !!! Almost a 7 minute improvement on my last outing over the same distance, although it has to be said that the course was much easier and the conditions were better today.
