Marathon News London/Boston/Edinburgh

Fantastic inspiring results from the London Marathon by my Bellahouston Clubmates --
Kenny Richmond 2:29:53 Matt Williamson 2:36:48 Colin McGill 2:39:54Scott Kennedy 2:45:51 Nick Reid 2:48:32 Russell Whittington 2.50.20 Rich Wild 2.51.19 Andy Birnie2:54:01 Peter Gallanagh 2:55:34 Robert McEwan 3:03:13 Marcos Gomez 3:07:21 Natasha Cox 3:19:26 Sarah Dowling 3:23:16 Jonathan Richards 3:25:22 Jane Wild 3:33:05 Lynne Andrew 3:33:49 Lynsey Munro 3:34:54 Katie Padgham 3:36:03 Linda Kennedy 3:45:37 Julie Vinter 3:49:41 Anne Marie O'Donnell 3:59:33 Scott Johnson 4:18:55 Mike Devlin 4:26:02
My big mate Stevie ran a first -class 3.07. Further afield Stevie's colleague Bill Johnson ran a superb Boston coming home in 2:53:42. A brief flavour of the day from Bill's email:
The third time in Boston did the trick. A surprising sunny day in mid-50s, so I kept reminding myself that conditions were unlikely to be better. Racing the course second consecutive year helped in terms of familiarity, including taking on the hills miles 16-21, aka "Heartbreak Hill." -- Fixin' for a Smithwicks. Well done Bill -- enjoy your hard-earned drink.
PS. Bad news on the Edinburgh Marathon front. After two weeks of intensive treatment my first run on Monday was great -- 6 miles no problems at all. The plan was to run a little further on Wednesday -- but after two miles I stopped and walked -- the leg is tight and sore again. Don't think I have enough time to recover in time for the marathon in just over 4 weeks. Hey ho !!!
