Ran in my first cross country relay race today at Irvine. Huge fun ! Tried out my brand new bright gold spikes -- they were not so brand new and bright when I finished although the conditions were pretty dry underfoot considering the amounts of rain we've been having. Spikes definitely help -- I was not slipping and sliding all over the place. Finished in a pedestrian 18.32 -- quite happy with that as I'm still nursing the remnants of a nasty cold I caught post-London. Next outing in two weeks at Cumbernauld where I'm sure I'll do better.
