Edinburgh Marathon Relay

Ran the above today in sweltering conditions with a team of Bellas -- Gordon Kerr (leg 1) Clare Blue (leg 3) and top team captain Ian Goudie (leg 4). I ran my 5,4 miles in 38.25ish around 7.03 minute miles. (Pretty accurate course Garmin measured in within .1). Happy with that in the conditions. My heart went out to the full marathon runners -- it was not the ideal day to be running 26.2 miles. Well done each and every one. A good turn out of Bellas across both events. Special vote of thanks to Ian for getting us all to out starting positions by car -- no mean feat in the traffic conditions of the day -- and of course for the loud and enthusiastic support. Loads of grub at the Deer Park Beefeater a perfect end to a great day. Thanks also to the great Bella support -- I'm sure I saw Scott and Linda, Russell, Al, Brendan and Susie cheering me on my five miles -- apologies if I missed anyone -- it was very hot out there :-) and my brains were boiled as Ian will tell you if you ask him about my chip moment !!! PS Just seen the official leg timings -- the assurance from our pen marshall that the chip timing had stopped for the changeover was rubbish. I wasted a good bit of time fiddling with the velcro strap. If I had thought it mattered I would have been much quicker grrrrr!!!
