Dissapointment at Elgin today -- when I had to pull out of the Moray Half Marathon less than two miles into the race, with a torn right calf muscle. The happy " before " picture outside registration at Elgin Town Hall was meant to be matched by a happy " after " the race picture, but it was not to be. I had hoped this injury was a thing of the past after getting podiatry advice and gel arch supports for my shoes but it's back again. I can give myself two months to get back to fitness -- in time to run the Bella 10k in November -- in the meantime a specialist in bio-mechanics will be my next port of call -- onward and upwards. PS Congrats to Malcolm Greig from Bella who ran a fantastic 3.37 and change in his first marathon -- good to get a catch up with him after the race.

Bad luck Norman, i had a muscle tear like that last year and it took longer than i wanted to repair. Best wishes for November, see you there. Graham
Thanks Graham -- at least it happened at the end of the season -- things can always be worse :-)
