Added the Glasgow park run to my long run this Saturday. Total of around 9.5 miles -- ran the 5k hard -- quite happy with 22.36. Had intended to jog round without worrying about a time but my old pal Watson Jones predicted I'd run it in 22.23 -- nothing like someone throwing down the gauntlet to put a spring in your step !!! Kept Ian Goudie in my sights all the way round and was passed in the latter part of the race by Murdoch Rodgers -- both gents running well. Watson finished right on my shoulder -- not bad running for a young fellow. And he let me off with the extra 13 seconds ;-). Heard later that some of the Highland Cows in the Park got out and caused a bit of chaos -- didn't see anything myself. Next race the Scotish Gas 10k in Edinburgh -- it'll mean missing the Helensburgh Half, but I've not done the Granton race for ages -- and I feel like a wee change.
