Great Scottish Run

Nice morning out photographing the GSR. Lots of good results for Bellahouston Roadrunners -- I had a number for the 10k, but woke up on Sunday with a pounding head and a throat like broken glass. That, plus the calf niggle which developed on holiday made me decide to give it a miss. Just as well because the 8.27 train from Drumchapel , which should have got me in by 8.45ish, went as far as Anniesland and was cancelled -- depositing, on the platform, a large number of runners bound for the 10k which started at 9.30. Since the next train was not scheduled until 9.20 most went off for buses and taxis -- not a good start to their race day. So I missed the beginning of the 10k. Found a good spot near the finish of the half as the runners turned the bend into the finishing straight -- unfortuately there was a very enthusiastic official there who kept getting in the road of the cameras and it was not easy to move as the stewarding was pretty heavy. Still some not bad photos. Next race the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10k in November.
