Vale Of Leven 10k

Always a favourite as it was my first race many years ago -- and often the only one of the Polaroid series I can manage as the others are all mid-week -- difficult to get away from work in time. Very happy with around 43.30ish -- time still to be confirmed. A warm sunny day and a good turnout of purple vests from Bellahouston. Very happy with my race strategy. I ran a steady and reasonably disciplined race. Bit of an early disaster -- the first mile was just shy of 9 minutes largely because there is a long hill at the beginning of the race. Also lost time as I got caught in a bit of a log jam at the start. The second mile was under 6.30 -- after the stiffish climb there was a long downill which I was able to run and make up time. The rest of the race was around 7 minute miles, give or take a few seconds, right to the end. Can't say fairer than that.
