National 4k Cross Country Championships

Mud Mud Glorious Mud -- lots of fun at the above event in Bellahoustoun Park today. It has rained for days so the course was a mudbath -- my brand new shiny trail shoes are no longer brand new and shiny -- although a deep puddle in the last 200 metres washed away most of the muck which clogged them up on the way round -- now I know why serious cross country runners wear spikes. It was a very small, very high-quality field and my sedate 19.16 placed me sixth from last -- there's no hiding place in an event like this. Cross country is another ball game altogether -- but it is so much fun !!! Thanks to Richard Leyton for the photos
