First 10k of the year -- the excellent -- but notoriously hilly Balfron race. Around 500 runners took part and it was hot. Well organised with chip timing and two water stations. It's an out and back with a fairly tight turn at the halfway. Very happy with my time of 46.04 -- I felt I ran well throughout and my last mile was no slower than my first mile -- always a good sign I feel. I had hoped to run 7.30 a mile and in fact achieved 7.25. The splits are not all even -- the downhills were quicker then the uphill sections -- but I don't think I could have run a second faster on the day -- and that's a good feeling. Nice to be back in the game.
