Girvan Half

As the sweltering weather continues it was off to Girvan for a cracking little half marathon in the sun.  A small contingent of Bellas made the trip -- it is one of our club championship races and is a fun and friendly race run by the local athletics club -- always popular.  It is also extremely hilly so PBs not expected.  Having managed 10 miles in training I thought this an ideal opportunity to get some confidence back in my dodgy old legs.  I ran well within my capabilities, felt strong and managed to pick up the pace in the latter part of the race -- passing quite a few runners on the run for home.   Don't think I could have run better on the day.  A good bit slower than my last attempt at this race at 1.49.15 --but a fast time was not the object.   Job well done in my opinion. Thanks to Kenny Philips for the photo of me running.

Hi Norman

Good to see you racing again. UK Athletics actually have this as your PB?! I think there must be an error in their records.

Thanks Ian great to see you back after that long break -- still you put it to good use -- your photography is coming on great guns. Aye they seem update PBs on a regular basis on that site -- my 1.35.50ish from Edinburgh is long gone :-) I may have a wee word and ask them about their policy.
